Mission: “To add value within communities by inspiring our future generations”.
We are all aware of the overwhelming bullying crises and the turmoil that bullying can cause on not only children and teenagers, but their families as well! More and more children and teenagers are being led to think that ending their lives and committing suicide is the only way to escape from the pain and loneliness that they feel. In fact, a recent finding was that almost every 100 minutes, a teenager commits suicide with a great deal of those cases a direct result of some form of bullying.
My Life My Power (MLMP) is a National 501(c)3 Anti-Bullying and Youth Development Non-Profit, that was founded in 2010 by Undefeated Mixed Martial Arts Fighter and WWE’s Tough Enough Champion, Daniel Puder. While Daniel is a now a Professional Athlete, things were quite different for him while growing up. He struggled with being overweight and was also in Special Education classes throughout the majority of his schooling, which caused him to be an easy target of bullying. When he began to hear of the kids who were committing suicide from being bullied, he felt a personal connection to the issue and knew that something needed to be done to change the mindset of our youth! Therefore, rather than simply saying a few public words about this issue, Daniel was compelled to create a complete program, geared toward youth, to be implemented in schools and after-school programs to prevent more tragedies from happening. And that is how My Life My Power began!
My Life My Power has attracted both national and worldwide attention as an innovative prototype with a highly effective youth diversion and mentoring program that provides long term and sustainable change within the lives of youth and the community. We have developed a self-sustaining model with an Educational Curriculum that differs from other youth programs in that we facilitate a comprehensive mentor training component. In addition, we provide and maintain consistency and ongoing communication and interaction between youth mentees and a trained mentor for at least a year in length (extending throughout the school year and into the summer months). To validate the effectiveness of the MLMP Program, we are evidence-based and have a White Paper describing our success specifically within Florida.
The My Life My Power Program is positively impacting the lives of youth around the world, by changing their mindset to build up their self-esteem and give them purpose and fulfillment! The Program takes a positive and proactive approach to challenges that students face by using Motivational Interviewing through the MLMP Program in which we ask the right questions to lead them toward determining the best outcome for their lives. We make it our mission to go after the root cause of a youth’s challenges rather than focusing on the symptoms of those causes. In turn, we are able to create a lasting and long-term change in their lives!
What gives the My Life My Power Program credibility:
In order to create a complete and well-rounded book, Daniel Puder has sought out a dynamic team of individuals to contribute to the content of the My Life My Power book. The team behind the program and some of the chapters in the book includes a Medical Doctor who specializes in Psychiatry, a Marriage and Family Therapist with a Masters in Counseling and Psychology, a Clinical Psychologist who is also a Marriage and Family Therapist, a Registered Dietician with a Masters in Nutrition, a Social Entrepreneur, numerous Law Enforcement Officials, as well as Counselors, Teachers, Principals, School Districts across the Nation. In addition, the information provided in the book has been confirmed and verified by these individuals who specialize in their related fields.
